The Wheels On The Bus is one of those songs I think all parents get familiar with, even if they would rather not. But if you're going to have to hear it, why not join in and make playing music a bonding experience with your child? :)
This tune is super easy to pick up as it uses just two simple chords! It's quite repetitive, as most children's songs are (much to the chagrin of the parents), but in this case, it works out well for you.
If you dig my children song lessons then please check out my eBook Children's Songs For Mums And Dads - 101 of your children's favourite songs arranged for easy ukulele chords. your support much appreciated.
This song is super easy and just uses two chords, C and F.
Ukulele Quick Start Guide For Parents
Of course, you can make up your own and there are suggestions in my book, but here are some common (and fun) ideas to get you going!
Horn going Beep Beep Beep
Babies going Wah Wah Wah
Wipers going Swish Swish Swish
Doors going Open And Shut
Mummies going Shhh Shhhh Shhhh
Daddies going What's That Noise? (into stereotypes much?)
Doggie going Woof Woof Woof
(And other animals and their noises - steal from Old McDonald Had A Farm! Maybe that's where the bus is going?)
