We’ll start with basic strumming and chords and progress to more advanced techniques, ensuring something for all skill levels. Don’t miss out on the (double) fun!

Activities before the session/session preview

The main focus of the session is to explore ideas for playing differently when there are two or more guitars playing at once. This session could be useful for you if you already play (or aim to play) with other guitarists. Perhaps you play at open mics or in a guitar club or in social settings. It might help if you want to freshen up your options when playing along to songs or Justin's App. If you enjoy using a looper and / or record multi-track guitar parts using a DAW, there may be something for you.

The session will build from - then move beyond - basic strumming and chords, meaning there should be something for all ability levels.

Advance preparation.:

The key expectation is that you can comfortably play and change the 8 Essential Beginner Chords plus some version of F (perhaps Fmaj7).
View and be familiar with Richard’s Capo Conversion Chart and its use as taught in Vintage Club #2.

Optional extras are to know root 6 and root 5 Power Chords, major and minor triads on G, B & E strings (see Vintage Club #9), Major Scale Pattern 1 and Minor Pentatonic Scale Pattern 1 plus E-shape barre chords and A-shape barre chords.
