This tune is great because it can approached on lots of levels. Aside from the fact that it is just a great song and Slash plays some excellent memorable solos in it...

Beginners can just take the chords and strum along and it won't be too hard.

Intermediate players can get into all the arpeggiated chord progressions and tackle to solos. There are a few narly bends in the solo (for acoustic guitar) that can be tricky.

The end lick
I've realised that I forgot to teach the lick right at the end, but I don't want to go back and edit the vids again sorry... So I added the tab to the very end of the solos page.

Arpeggio playing help
So it seems a lot of you are struggling with the arpeggio playing. I can't tab it out because it is different every time I play it and it's different on the record every time they play it. I understand your frustration, but if you keep practicing you will be able to improvise this type of line and then you will be able to apply the concept to many songs, and that is cool.

The only suggestion that I can give you is to try just playing one chord and playing even 8 notes on each chord and try and randomly pick notes from the chord. Playy the bass note on beat 1, and then make up the rest as you go. Do it slowly and get your picking hand used to finding the notes. It does happen in time, I promise. I never learned a technique, just made it up as I went, and after some time you just kinda know where the notes are and start to "hear" them.

Hybrid Picking
There is a little bit where I use hybrid picking - the pick plays the lower note and one finger plays the other. Should have mentioned it in the vid but forgot, sorry.

Amusing fact
When I was a teenager I was a huge G'n'R fan. I had hair long enough to sit on and used to wear all the rock gear at the time... cowboy boots, leather pants, no shirt... oh dear... I wanted to be just like Axl, used to dye my hair the same colour and one of my mates used to draw all his tattoos on my arms. All that to hang around on the street corner drinking Jack Daniels and thinking I was cool... ha ha ha.
