Justinguitar - Free Guitar Lessons

Song Lessons

Justinguitar.com Song Lessons

So this is where you can find out how to play some of your favourite songs!! Some of the easier songs have been simplified for beginners and in the advanced lessons I try and go into as much detail as I can.

I can't find the TAB!!!
In early 2010 I was contacted by the Music Publishers Association and told to remove all the tabs (and lyric chord sheets) from my site. I looked into trying to fight it but there was little chance of winning, so instead my lawyer recommended that I try and work with them instead of against them, so that is what I have done!

I am now working in partnership with Music Sales (who are a very cool bunch now I've got to know them) to release a series of Songbooks that will songs in a structured form and the video lessons will be here on the web site! So far we have released The Jusinguitar Beginner's Songbook, The Justinguitar Acoustic Songbook, The Justinguitar Pop Songbook, The Justinguitar Rock Songbook and there are more on the way soon :)

Please don't forget that:

And that is the truth! So actually better than using tabs is to work out songs yourself and make your own charts! It is nowhere as hard as you might think if you have never tried it - it is the way that generations of guitar players before you learnt to play!! And I have loads of lessons on it to help get you going... and just imagine, when you can - you can work out whatever songs you like!!

When you transcribe you develop your ear and will enable you to play many songs just by listening to them! No need for tab at all - it's amazing and that is what "real" musicians do. In the old days nobody had tab - you think Jimi and Clapton got tabs off a web site???

Easy Songs For Beginners (Open Chords and sometimes F)

These songs are kinda simplified versions of the proper songs to give you some cool stuff to play while you are starting out. They will sound good strummed and help you get a grip of your chord shapes and something to play at your next BBQ :) The Beginner's Songbook songs are filmed with much better quality, and are set out in order of difficulty so I'd recommend that as a much better option! Maybe of the songs in this section will be re-filmed in the near future and these old ones removed!
