Licks that take you up the neck...
Now you're gonna get real fancy. You have put the time into learning your licks in Position 1 and Position 2 of the Minor Pentatonic (you have, haven't you!!!!) and now you need to be able to move smoothly between the positions.
There are a number of approaches to doing this, some of which we will cover in later lessons... but to start you off we are going to look at five licks that you can use to do this.
To make the most of this you should EXPLORE the IDEA, steal the seed and sew it again in your own way. Twist the licks, turn the licks inside out and see what you can come up with. Only YOU can learn to do that!
The TAB is below the vid lesson, I recommend watching the vid first and then checking out the TAB so that you know how they should go - and also check out the fingering, of course...

If you need to ask a question about this lesson - there is a topic set up specifically to help you with this lesson. To help you find it easily you can click the following link and it will take you right the topic. You'll be able to see questions that other people had and ask your own questions! Hopefully one of the very helpful members of our community will be there to help you soon, I do go there and answer stuff too - but there are just too many questions for me to answer alone! |
