Basic Finger Workout
This exercise is simple. All you are doing is putting your fingers down, one fret at a time, starting with your first finger. Make sure that you:
• hold the fingers down as you go: when you put down your little finger, make sure the first finger is still pressing down in the correct fret. This is what helps you develop the stretch between the fingers making them more agile. Holding them down also works the muscles, making your fingers stronger.
• use your finger tips: don't let the fingers go flat, keep the fingers slightly rounded and that the tip of your finger is holding down the strings, this helps you develop the correct technique and also toughen up the ends of your fingers.
• 5 minutes per day will be enough: don't go over the top and practice it too much or you might hurt yourself! 5 mins is enough to get a bit of a workout without any straining.
