AA-030 - Translation Centre!
Help more people understand this site by translating it!
Here is how to help...
Let me start by thanking you for being interested in helping translate the site. It will really make a big difference to the (majority) of the world that does not speak english, and make it easier for those that understand just a little!
To help out - you need to get in touch with Niamh (email: translate at justinguitar.com) so she can tell you what is done and what needs doing. ***note - Niamh seems to have disappeared... and doesn't reply to my emails!! so you will have to email me for now!
Have a look at the three main areas of translation help and see which you can do to help - they are all inportant!
Thanks again for your interest and help - this will really help me teach the world to play ;)
Justin
The Main Site (will require php skills and php/html editing software)
To help edit the main site you need to have good php knowledge, and a web editor that will open php files. This is because I would like to send you the raw php files and then get you to ONLY TRANSLATE THE TEXT AND META TAGS and not to touch the other elements of the site, or the pages wil not work!
If you are capeable of doing this - please drop me and email and tell me the language you speak and your rough level of php skill. I will then send you one page to translate - it will be checked - and then if it is all cool, we will get you going on a section at a time.
NOTES:
1. Please do not alter any of the php or html script or the page will not function properly - ONLY edit the body text and headders.
2. The one exception in the code you could change would be the META tags, please change them to your language.
3. The text should reflect the easy language of the original, but no vulgar swear words please (even if I use them in the orginal text!)
4. Please do not alter any of the words in the scripts (like the languages one)
Video Dictation / Translation (will require Microsoft Word)
Another very helpful part will be to write down what I say in the videos in your language. These MAY become subtitled videos later on, but we have not got all that sorted out yet! For now it will be a pdf file downloaded and will be found under the video itself.
It is important that you follow the template and guidelines exactly. Try and be as accurate as posible and keep the fun flavour of the spoken word, not a serious book :)
How to do it:
1. Email Me and find out what needs doing (to save doing something we can't use!)
2.
Download the .doc (MS Word) template HERE and then write your translated text into it.
3. Email your finished copy back to Niamh - and save the file with the lesson code followed by your language name - for example: TE-000-XX.doc
4. It will be then emailed to someone else to be checked.
5. Once checked it will be put up on the site as a free download for all your fellow country people!!
Proof Reading (corrections)
After someone has submitted a translation, they will need to be checked! This needs someone with a keen eye to check the spelling and that the translation is right :)
Email Naimh and she will send you things to check - just email them back!! :) easy... kinda..
THANK YOU, J.
